Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 4, 2026.

Kairos is built around a small idea: scripture should feel quiet. That applies to your data too. We collect only what we need to run the practice — verse picks, your journal, your subscription state — and nothing for ad networks, analytics resale, or third-party tracking. This page tells you what we hold, why, and how to take it back.

What we collect

  • Account. When you sign in with Apple, Apple gives us a name (or a private relay address) and an email — usually a @privaterelay.appleid.com forwarder. We store that plus a stable user ID so we can sync your journal across devices.
  • Onboarding answers. Your faith background, life season, and what you said you carry today. Used by the verse picker to make Kai feel personal. Never sold or shared with advertisers.
  • Journal entries. The reflections you write during a pause. Private to you — only readable by your account.
  • Subscription state.Whether you’re on Free or Plus, and when your period renews. Held by RevenueCat and synced to us by webhook.
  • Push token + timezone. So your daily verse arrives at the local time you chose.

What we don’t collect

  • No third-party analytics, no Facebook SDK, no ad IDs.
  • No location beyond your timezone.
  • No contacts, photos (except a photo you choose to share to your camera roll yourself), or microphone.
  • No tracking of your activity across other apps or websites.

Service providers we send data to

We use a small set of trusted vendors. Each receives only the data needed for its job and is bound by its own privacy commitments.

  • Supabase. Hosts the database, edge functions, and authentication. Stores your account row, journal entries, and daily picks.
  • Anthropic.Powers the personalized verse + reflection for Plus subscribers. We send a slice of your profile (faith, what you carry today) and recent journal entries (last three, truncated) so Kai can speak to where you are. Anthropic doesn’t train models on this data per its API terms.
  • Apple. Handles Sign in with Apple and delivers push notifications via APNs.
  • RevenueCat. Manages the subscription lifecycle and tells our server when your entitlement changes. Receives an anonymous subscriber ID linked to your account.
  • Expo. Routes push notifications from our server to APNs. Holds device tokens.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we cascade-delete every row tied to your user ID — profile, journal, daily picks, push tokens. Backups roll off within 30 days.

How to delete your data

Open Kairos, go to You → Data & Privacy → Delete account. That irreversibly removes your auth user and cascades through every table. If you need help doing this from outside the app, email us at hello@kairosbible.app.

Children

Kairos isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we’ll delete the account.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted. Reach us at hello@kairosbible.app. If you’re in the EU, UK, or California you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what we collect or who we share it with, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and surface a notice in the app before it takes effect.
